college friends to sell a peppery jelly to launching their own affiliate network and finally being acquired by <a href=https://www.authorityhacker.com/"//ebay-affiliate-program-review///" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eBay<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>eBay then renamed the business \u2018eBay Enterprise Affiliate Network\u2019 before spinning it off for it to become the Pepperjam affiliate network all over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So let\u2019s take a look at whether or not Pepperjam is an affiliate network that\u2019s worthy of your interest.<\/p>\n\n\n<div way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Affiliate networks tend to care more about how much traffic your site generates than anything else, but every little extra effort on your part can help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now it\u2019s time to describe your \u2018Publishing Channels\u2019, so that means choosing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What categories your site fits into<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How you generate traffic\/sales<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where most of your visitors come from<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And what social media platforms you\u2019re active on<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"336\" that the entire application process is a one-page affair because it speeds the process up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pepperjam \u2013 from memory \u2013 has a pretty quick turnaround on affiliate applications, so you shouldn\u2019t have to wait more than a few working days to receive a \u201cYay\u201d or \u201cNay!\u201d from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Affiliate marketing networks that make you jump through all kinds of hoops during the application process usually take longer to approve applications than those that don\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What brands can you promote?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This can be a deal-breaker for some people and not for others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it\u2019s still reassuring to see at least some big brand names on an affiliate network But there are also lots of smaller brands to work with.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So Pepperjam has enough breadth in its offerings to cover most niches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the hidden affiliate benefit in these smaller programs\/businesses is that they typically represent products and services you\u2019d never have thought of otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only potential downside here is that there are fewer than 1,000 advertisers on this platform, so you could run out of options if you\u2019re in a particularly focused <a href=https://www.authorityhacker.com/"//dating-affiliate///" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">niche like online dating<\/a>, for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ease of Use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You shouldn\u2019t have to work <em>through <\/em>an affiliate interface or dashboard &#8211; it should make your life easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The problem is that most of these interfaces are designed by \u201cthe data guys\u201d, so they\u2019re clunky, cluttered and lack even the most cursory of nods to UX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pepperjam though has one of the cleaner interfaces I\u2019ve used:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"309\" src=https://www.authorityhacker.com/"https:////www.authorityhacker.com//wp-content//uploads//2022//01//pepperjam-dashboard-menu-1024x309.png/" alt=\"Pepperjam Dashboard Menu\" class=\"wp-image-44797\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>All your primary functions are located in the left-hand menu, leaving the main \u201cworkspace\u201d area clear for alerts, and information on recently launched programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And when you click on one of the menus it \u2013 and I\u2019m eternally grateful for this \u2013 doesn\u2019t pop out, it expands down instead:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-44798\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>That leaves the top menu free for non-essential info and functions:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter Mail<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feedback<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Account details<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Logout<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>So I\u2019m giving them top marks for their affiliate dashboard \u2013 it looks fresh and clean but they don\u2019t sacrifice functionality for some stupidly elaborate design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now let\u2019s take a look at what it\u2019s like actually <a href=https://www.authorityhacker.com/"https:////www.authorityhacker.com//find-affiliate-programs///" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"53952\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">finding an affiliate program<\/a> or three to sign up for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Finding affiliate programs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of the aspects of affiliate networks I find most fascinating simply because it\u2019s the one area you think they\u2019d focus a lot of their effort on.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They <em>should<\/em> make it<em> <\/em>really easy for affiliates to quickly find and sign up for a given affiliate program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pepperjam does an okay job in this regard \u2013 there\u2019s room for improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To get a list of affiliate programs you click on \u2018Advertisers\u2019 and then \u2018Find New Advertisers\u2019:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"352\" src=https://www.authorityhacker.com/"https:////www.authorityhacker.com//wp-content//uploads//2022//01//pepperjam-find-new-advertisers-dashboard-1024x352.png/" alt=\"Pepperjam Find New Advertisers Dashboard\" class=\"wp-image-44800\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The search function defaults to searching for programs that you have \u2018No relationship\u201d with, so that saves time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also search for affiliate programs based on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Category<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attribution features&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offer type&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Term status<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mobile tracking&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Currency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Countries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Program ID&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Premier Advertisers&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At face value, this looks like a very complete set of filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it is except you have no way of telling how profitable a given program is because you can\u2019t see their respective EPC data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So you get lots of filters you don\u2019t need, but one of the most critical is missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or Pepperjam doesn\u2019t want to publish that information because it\u2019s not exactly glowing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Something else that stuck out is that they only have 937 advertisers and not the 1,500 we\u2019ve seen claimed elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So we\u2019re hoping that Pepperjam is focused on quality over quantity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating affiliate links<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s see how Pepperjam got on when we tried to set up some links.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To get started, click on \u2018My Advertisers\u2019, choose the program you want to create a link for and then click \u2018Get Creatives\u2019:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"268\" Links<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coupons&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I really like how Pepperjam uses a tabbed layout here:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"244\" class=\"wp-image-44802\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s just far less convoluted than the way other affiliate networks handle this stuff i.e. you don\u2019t have to jump between pages to find what you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A nice touch is the \u2018Products\u2019 option &#8211; you can create deep links to products instead of just a category (or worse) the advertiser\u2019s homepage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why is deep linking important?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because your traffic will convert better if you can take the visitor directly to the product you mentioned or reviewed in your content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pepperjam also offers a \u2018Link Generator\u2019 tool.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a bookmarklet that you add to your browser that allows you to create am affiliate link to any page on an advertiser\u2019s site.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"381\" money!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t Google that \u2013 you\u2019ll just be disappointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s take a look at the Pepperjam affiliate payment structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Payment timeframe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Affiliate payments are made on the 1<sup>st<\/sup> and 15<sup>th<\/sup> of each month, or the closest possible date to that depending on when weekends fall.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basically, it can take up to a week after these dates to receive payment, so you need to allow for that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Affiliate payments are only made on locked commissions on 30, 45 or 60 days, so this can cause additional delays in when you get paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basically, Pepperjam is meant to be a net 60 payment deal, but\u2026it varies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Payment methods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, you can choose between PayPal and\u2026.umm\u2026.PayPal.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Affiliates can also opt for payment via direct deposit or check\u2026but you have to email Pepperjam to set that up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why add an additional manual step to what should be a user-driven change?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of the silliest things I\u2019ve seen in ages and no doubt ties up their customer support team in unnecessary paper shuffling.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Payment threshold<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need to earn at least $25 in affiliate commissions before it will trigger a payment from your account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Publisher Help<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Support is a big deal especially for those new to affiliate marketing, and Pepperjam has done a better than decent job with the range of available support options.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firstly, you can ring them, which is a real novelty, but you also get actual email addresses to use and not just a contact form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They also offer \u2018Knowledge Centers\u2019 for both advertisers and publishers:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"350\" src=https://www.authorityhacker.com/"https:////www.authorityhacker.com//wp-content//uploads//2022//01//pepperjam-publisher-help-1024x350.png/" alt=\"Pepperjam Publisher Help\" class=\"wp-image-44809\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Their knowledge base is streamlined and the search function actually works pretty well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also use the \u2018Advertiser Mail\u2019 function to send queries to the program manager for any affiliate program you\u2019re signed up to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This allows you to bypass Pepperjam support and go straight to the
